(I can’t believe that I can own this beautiful house at only a small cost. This isn’t a house for the urban poor. This is for the urban rich,” said a happy Martel.
The houses were turned over during the groundbreaking ceremony of the relocation site attended by Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede.
The two houses of Martel and Marangga will serve as the model unit of the 1,200 housing units to be constructed at the site.
The two story houses, which have a floor area of 28 square meters, have their own septic tank. Its walls and structures were also made of compressed bricks.
