These came from Las Piñas City and were supposed to be delivered to Paco Market when intercepted by the Manila Veterinary Inspection Board (VIB). Pact inked on scholarships for selected Manila residents

The Manila government and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) have reached an agreement that would give scholarships to deserving students from the city. Under the memorandum of agreement signed on Thursday by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and EAC officials led by its president Jose Paulo Campos, 12 students would be chosen from each of the city’s 896 barangays. Each would be entitled to a 50-percent discount in tuition. Councilor Princess Abante, who was present during the signing, said the scholarship would be open only to first-time enrollees, but not necessarily freshmen students.  She chairs the city council’s committee on education and sports. “Qualifiers for the scholarship may apply for any course or program at EAC except Medicine,” Abante said. Scholars are required to maintain a grade not lower than 80 percent per semester. —Aie Balagtas See
