Luzon grid under yellow alert on Thursday, July 4
MANILA, Philippines – The entire Luzon grid will be placed on yellow alert from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. today, Thursday, July 4, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said.
The NGCP said the alert status is due to the low electric power reserve.
Available capacity is 11,395 megawatts (MW), while peak demand is projected at 10,418 MW, leaving a reserve of 977 MW.

Today’s yellow alert is the latest in a series of alerts raised since May 2019.
