4 alleged members of land-grabbing ring nabbed in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — Four suspected members of a land-grabbing syndicate were arrested in Caloocan City on Tuesday afternoon, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said.

Police identified the suspects as Annaliza Mendez, 40; Mary Grace Madrideo, 30; Roberto Mazarate, 55; and Giovanni Ignacio, 35.

Operatives of CIDG Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crime Unit (AFCCU) under Lt. Col. Bayani Razalan collared the alleged members of a land-grabbing syndicate along Zapote Street, Maligaya Park in North Caloocan.

The arrest came after a certain Noel Pagtakhan reported to police that the suspects are involved in fraudulent selling of properties in Camarin, Caloocan.

Suspects were then taken to CIDG Office for documentation while estafa cases are being readied against them. (Editor: Katherine G. Adraneda)
