MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression “Egay” has weakened into a low pressure area Monday afternoon.

The LPA will bring light to moderate and at times heavy rains over Batanes and the northern portions of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan (including the Babuyan Group of Islands) from Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The LPA was last spotted 190 kilometers east northeast of Calayan, Cagayan. It is expected to dissipate in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will also have light to moderate and occasional heavy rains from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning due to the prevailing southwest monsoon.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Visayas and the rest of Luzon.

Moderate to rough seas will prevail over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon in the next 24 hours, Pagasa said. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
