MANILA, Philippines — Ending the decades-old reign of the Eusebios in Pasig City, 29-year-old Vico Sotto took his oath of office on Sunday as he officially began his term as the mayor of one of the biggest cities in the country.
Sotto took his oath before Commission on Audit (COA) chairperson Michael Aguinaldo at the Pasig City Sports Center, which was filled with Sotto’s family, allies, and supporters.
His running mate, Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo, also took his oath of office.
Neophyte mayor Sotto ended the Eusebio clan’s 27-year hold of the mayoral post in Pasig City when he beat incumbent mayor Bobby Eusebio by over 70,000 votes in the recent midterm elections. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
