MANILA, Philippines — A video of a UP student performing BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ dance moves after receiving his diploma onstage went viral on Saturday, June 29.
“Minsan lang g-graduate so dapat eeksena right? Salamat, UP!” wrote Jose “Dora” Dorado in his Facebook post.
According to Dorado, the video was taken today, June 29, by his sister during UP Diliman’s graduation rites as he received his diploma for finishing Bachelor of Science in Clothing Technology at Cine Adarna.
When asked why he did it, Dorado told inquirer.net that the ceremony is getting a bit dull and somehow, it is his way of celebrating his graduation day which he really looked forward to.
“The ceremony was getting a bit dull because of all the prior speeches. I was 7th to walk so I just wanted to do something fun!!! Also I really wanted to celebrate cause I’ve been really looking forward to graduation.”
He also said that he didn’t actually think that the video will go viral.
“it was quite a surprise! I got about 115k views in under an hour.”
As of writing, the video already garnered more than 160,000 views, 11,000 reactions, and 90,000 shares online. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
