MANILA, Philippines — A total of 368 accommodation establishments have been allowed by government to operate in Boracay, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said Friday.
In a Facebook post, the DOT said a total of 13,064 rooms are now available for travelers who want to visit the popular tourist destination.
Of the establishments now allowed to operate, the Fairways and Blue Water Resort and Savoy Hotel Boracay in Barangay Yapak have the highest number of rooms with 700 and 559, respectively.
Before establishments could operate in Boracay, they must secure permits and clearances from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
It was on October 26, 2018 when Boracay reopened after a six-month shut down for rehabilitation. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
