MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area being monitored by the state weather bureau has entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday evening and will bring rains over parts of Mindanao.
Caraga, Davao region, and Soccksksargen will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rains and thunderstorms, it added.
The potential cyclone was last spotted 960 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Pagasa is not discounting the possibility that it will intensify into a tropical depression in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas, Pagasa said.
Zambales, Bataan, and Mimaropa region will experience monsoon rains while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, Pagasa also said. (Editor: Katherine G. Adraneda)
