Charcoal maker loses P600T in Catmon robbery

A charcoal maker told police that he was robbed at home by four men who posed as police officers in barangay Binungkalan, Catmon town, northern Cebu.
Romel Arigo, 22, said he lost P600,000 cash and P39,000 worth of jewelery.

Arigo said four men arrived in his home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday and introduced themselves as policemen.

Arigo said he was surprised when the four visitors drew guns and held him up. He said two of the men mauled him, tied his hands with a rope and taped his mouth.

Arigo said he was brought to a secluded area a few meters from his house while the other robbers took his belongings.

Arigo said he untied himself and ran to the police station to report the robbery, according to PO3 Januario Sudaria of the Catmon police.

Police released a cartographic sketch of one of the robbers.
