NLEx to close Bocaue south-bound lanes Thursday for bridge repair

BOCAUE, Bulacan – North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) motorists are advised to brace for heavy traffic starting 10 a.m. on Thursday due to a bridge repair along the southbound lane in this town.

In an advisory, NLEx Corp. said two middle lanes at the 300-meter approach to Bocaue exit would be closed 24/7 to give way to the rehabilitation of a river bridge.

A 100-meter portion of the old bridge will undergo deck slab replacement and girder strengthening.

Partial completion of the work is expected by mid-July but full works will end by September.

Micah Aquino, NLEX Corp. press relation officer, said there would be counterflow lanes on the north-bound lane during peak hours or as the need arises.

The area is part of the Bocaue-exit south-bound approach where heavy traffic arises on Sunday afternoons and daily mornings.  (Editor: Leti Boniol)
