MANILA, Philippines – A ground crew member fell off a ladder after he was struck by lightning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Tuesday night, the Manila International Airport Authorities (MIAA) reported on Wednesday.

MIAA identified the victim as Joel Arejola, 30.

MIAA said that Arejola was detaching a ground power unit from an aircraft at NAIA Terminal 1 at around 6:58 p.m. when lightning struck him.
