Man found dead in Quezon City creek

MANILA, Philippines — The body of a 38-year-old man was found floating in a creek in front of his house in Quezon City early Tuesday morning.

Police identified the deceased man as Herbert Garcia, 38, of Barangay Damayan in Quezon City.

Masambong police station, under the supervision of Police Lt. Col. Rodrigo Soriano, reported that a witness saw Garcia’s body along Carangay Street in Barangay Damayan at 5:30 a.m.

Cpl. Frederick Carillo and Cpl. Lorenzo Rocha of Masambong police responded to the call and retrieved the victim’s cadaver.

Initial investigation showed that Garcia drowned but police will still conduct further investigation to determine the exact cause of his death. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
