4 vendors hurt after falling into Parañaque construction excavation

MANILA, Philippines — Four vendors were hurt after falling into an excavation at a construction site in Parañaque City on Tuesday morning.

Police identified the victims as Filimon Calaglag, 47; Ernesto Temosa, 46; Evelyn Solares, 40; and Glenn Solares, 42.

An initial report from Parañaque police station said, the vendors were sleeping near the  construction site along General Santos Avenue corner Daang Hari, Barangay San Martin de Porres.

At about 6 a.m., police said the slope protection and steel barriers that surrounded the excavation site collapsed,  causing the sleeping victims to fall into the excavation.

Calaglag and Temosa were rushed to Taguig Pateros Hospital while Evelyn and Glenn were taken to the South Superhighway Medical Center for treatment.
