MANILA, Philippines – The prevailing southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region and the Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The public was warned of possible flash floods and landslides.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains.
Meanwhile, Pagasa continues to monitor the potential tropical cyclone hovering off Luzon.
The low pressure area was last spotted 580 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan which may intensify into a tropical depression within 48 hours.
It will be locally named “Dodong,” should it intensify into a tropical cyclone. /gsg
