LRT-1 operations back to normal

MANILA, Philippines – Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) operations resumed normal operations Monday afternoon after a 15 kilometer per hour (kph) speed limit was imposed on all trips, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.

The speed restriction was imposed on from 11:55 to 11:59.

LRT-1 trains usually travel at a maximum speed of 40 kph, according to the LRMC.

“The 4-minute speed restriction was implemented to allow our technician to fix one door on one train,” LRMC Head of Corporate Communications Rochelle Gamboa told INQUIRER.net.

Gamboa also said no trips were affected as the LRMC “merely slowed down the speed of the train for safety.” /gsg
