MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday that the trough of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.
Pagasa warned the residents in the said areas to brace for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
As of 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 890 kilometers East Northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Pagasa added that the LPA may become a tropical depression in the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
Possible flash floods or landslides should also be expected during severe thunderstorms, Pagasa said. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
