Korean writer found dead with gunshot wound in Antipolo

MANILA, Philippines — A Korean writer was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head on Sunday morning in Antipolo, Rizal.

A report from Antipolo police identified the victim as Joo Yeong-wook, 58.

Police found the victim’s body along Taktak Road in Barangay Dela Paz at around 7:15 a.m.

Police said Joo’s hands were tied with duct tape and was shot in the forehead.

A report from The Korea Times on Friday stated that the writer arrived in the Philippines on June 14 for a tour and was supposed to return to Korea on Tuesday.
