Drug suspect slain in Olongapo buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines – The car of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) president that was being used by his wife was shot at by an unidentified man in Quezon City on Friday afternoon.

Kamuning police station under Lt. Col. Louise Tremor reported that Evelina Evangelista, 67, wife of VACC head Arsenio “Boy” Evangelista, found a bullet hole in the window of her husband’s car, a Toyota Vios (ZNH413), which was parked in front of the Kamuning Market on Shianghio Street in Barangay Kamuning at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Evangelista sought the police to investigate the incident.

Members of the Kamuning police station went to the scene and obtained a copy of the closed-circuit television footage from the Office of the Barangay Kamuning.

It showed that Evangelista’s vehicle was parked beside the shooter’s Toyota Sedan at 1:26 p.m. The mestizo-looking man wearing a white shirt and long pants fired at the Toyota Vios and escaped towards T. Gener Street.

Recovered from the car was a deformed slug from an unknown gun which was brought to the Quezon City Police District Scene of the Crime Operatives for ballistics examination.

The police will conduct further investigation of the incident./ac
