Waiter stabs, hurts two customers

A waiter of an eatery stabbed and wounded two customers who reprimanded him for shooing away carolers at dawn yesterday.

Geleman Sorena, 19, a waiter of Food Shop in barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City, was arrested by a policeman who happened to pass by in the area during the incident.

Rolindo Escaran, 21, and Richard Adlawon, 19, sustained multiple stab wounds in their bodies.

Police said Escaran and Adlawon were drinking when a group of old women arrived and started singing Christmas songs.

Sorena shooed the carolers away.

The two customers admonished Sorena for what he did.  The waiter got irked and allegedly challenged the two customers to a fistfight.

Police said Escaran and Adlawon mauled the waiter, who drew a bladed weapon and stabbed the two customers.

PO2 Philipp Ray Alcazar stopped the fight and arrested the waiter. The two customers were rushed to a Cebu City hospital./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
