Palace declares non-working holidays in select areas
MANILA, Philippines—Malacañang has declared several special non-working holidays in different provinces to allow the public to celebrate significant events in their respective communities.
“It is but fitting and proper that people be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” read the proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on June 18. The proclamations were released to media on Thursday.
Proclamation 750 declared July 1 a special non-working holiday in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental to mark its charter anniversary.
June 24 has been declared a special non-working holiday in the province of Masbate in celebration of its Kasadyaan sa Dagat 2019.
Meanwhile, the people of Koronadal City, South Cotabato will also be given a special non-working holiday on June 29 in celebration of the city’s Tree Growing Festival. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
