AROUND 4,000 runners are expected to answer the starting gun as the Cebu leg of the Unilab Run dubbed “Run for Wellness” fires off today at the Asiatown I.T. Park in barangay Apas.
Considered as the biggest running event in the country, organizers are expecting to draw record-breaking numbers of participants for their sixth and final leg of the nationwide running series.
The event will feature 500-meter, 3-kilometer, 4k, 10k and 21k categories.
Rio Dela Cruz of RunRio Promotions together with the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) headed by Ricky Ballesteros will handle the technical side of the race.
It will be a tight competition in the 21k premier division as our top local bets once again battle Kenyan runners for the crown. The top finishers for the 21k race will get P5,000 cash prize including freebies and medals. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G.ROSAL
