MANILA, Philippines — Commissioner Rowena Guanzon marked her fourth year as a Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner by launching her sixth book.
Guanzon on Wednesday announced the launching of her book “The Government Auditing Code of the Philippines.”
In her speech, Guanzon said that it took her three years to finish the book because of her busy schedule as Comelec commissioner.
Guanzon, who served in the Commission on Audit for a year, said that she saw the need to have a book on auditing rules and jurisprudence.
“That time, there was no book on auditing rules and jurisprudence, and you know, one of the specialized practice is really audit,” she said.
“People don’t understand it because the rules are really different and so we are always on talks with our auditors,” she added.
According to Guanzon, her book, that was co-authored of Atty. Princess Jazmine Logroño, will be a “helpful material” for lawyers and auditing agencies.
Guanzon was appointed as Comelec commissioner by former President Benigno Aquino III in 2015. Her term will expire in 2022. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
