CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—Police on Monday said they killed Northern Mindanao’s sixth most wanted man during an operation at the village of Vicente, Baungon town, Bukidnon province.
The Northern Mindanao police said Dencio Lundahan, who heads a crime group named after him, was engaged in extortion, armed robbery, assassinations and other crimes in northern Bukidnon, mainly in Baungon and towns near it.
The regional police also claimed Lundahan had ties with New People’s Army but this could not be independently confirmed.
Police Brig. Gen. Rafael Santiago, regional police chief, said Lundahan was subject of several arrest warrants for multiple murder and other serious crimes.
Santiago said Lundahan preyed on plantation operators in Bukidnon, a province known for its vast areas devoted to pineapple-growing for multinational companies. (Editor: Tony Bergonia)
