Farewell for Baguio mayor turns into skit on his political life
BAGUIO CITY—A farewell ceremony for outgoing Mayor Mauricio Domogan turned the spotlight on his political career played out on stage by city government employees who became instant actors in a skit on Monday (June 17).
Officials, employees, policemen and scouts bid farewell to Domogan at the flag-raising ahead of the formal turnover of power in the city on June 28.
Domogan served as mayor from 1992-2001 and 2010-2019 and representative from 2001-2010. His streak came to an end when he lost to incumbent Baguio Rep. Marquez Go in the race for the city’s congressional seat.
Domogan is a member of the indigenous Bago community who often wore his tribe’s colors during official functions. He had been photographed playing golf wearing G-strings. VINCENT CABREZA (Editor: Tony Bergonia)
