Suspects in shooting of Oriental Mindoro prosecutor killed in police ops

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspects in the shooting of an Oriental Mindoro provincial prosecutor were killed in an encounter with the police in Calapan City Monday.

An initial police report said operatives were conducting a follow-up operation on the shooting incident that injured prosecutor Josephine Caranzo Olivar on June 10.

The suspects, upon noticing the police, immediately fired several times. This triggered the police to trade shots, killing them on the spot.

The fatalities were identified as 23-year-old Robert Magboo also known as Robert Martinez, and 34-year-old Edefer Hindap Gran.
