1 dead, 1 arrested in Quezon anti-drug operations

LUCENA CITY – A drug suspect was killed while another was arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Burdeos and Sariaya in Quezon province.

Dante Tancinco, 59, died on the spot after when he grabbed the service firearm of an undercover police officer which went off Saturday night in Barangay Poblacion in Burdeos, Quezon provincial police chief Col. Ramil Montilla said on Sunday.


The police officer was wounded and brought to hospital.

Authorities recovered a plastic sachet of shabu weighing less than one gram from the slain suspect.


In Sariaya, drug suspect Michael Sandro, 45, was collared after a drug transaction with an undercover police officer in Barangay Lutucan 1 before dawn Sunday.

The suspect yielded four plastic sachets of shabu weighing 20.12 grams with an estimated street value of P110,660. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
