Robbery is being considered as the motive in the killing of a cab driver in Pasay City.
Edgardo Agan’s body was found in his taxi cab near the corner of F.B. Harrison and Gotamco Streets in Barangay 16 at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police investigators said the 54-year-old victim had been stabbed around 20 times.
Police Supt. Deanry Francisco, assistant Pasay police chief of administration, said that robbery was being considered since Agan’s dashboard camera and cellphone were missing.
However, the money in his wallet and his earnings for the day, which had been hidden away, were found intact.
His killers have yet to be identified and the police are still gathering footage taken by closed-circuit television cameras near the crime scene to see if these can provide clues.
Agan’s partner, Jacqueline Cabos, told probers that she did not know of anyone who had a grudge against the victim “because he was a good person.”
She addressed the suspects, saying they should have just taken all of Agan’s money instead of killing him.
