Indian nat’l nabbed for renting out already occupied condo unit

MANILA, Philippines — An Indian national ended up in jail ‪on Wednesday afternoon‬ after he allegedly duped a victim into renting a condominium unit that was already occupied in Pasay City.

Pasay police identified the arrested suspect as Krishna Chaitanya Ravichander, 32, of Makati City.

Ravichander offered a condominium unit for rent for P20,000 located at a hotel in SM Mall of Asia to Rosendo Zarco, 28, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite on June 7.

Zarco then paid the amount to Ravichander and received the key for the unit.

After a day, Zarco went to the unit but found that the key could not open the unit’s door. Zarco also discovered that the unit was still occupied by different people.

With this, Zarco reported the incident to police which then led the Pasay police station’s Investigation Detective Management Section (SIDMS) to conduct an entrapment operation to catch the suspect.

The suspect fell into the hands of lawmen after he rented out the same condominium unit to Zarco’s friend, Dulce Mendoza.

Ravichander is now under the custody of Pasay city police station and will face charges for estafa. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
