Fire hits downtown Manila building

MANILA, Philippines – Fire struck a commercial building along C.M. Recto Avenue and Roman Street in Manila Thursday morning, the local fire department reported.

The Manila Fire Department said fire broke out at Al Square Building at 10:29 a.m.

It reached first alarm at 10:35 a.m. and was raised to second alarm after more than ten minutes.

Around 10 fire trucks responded to the scene.

The blaze was declared under control after an hour and was totally extinguished at around 12 p.m.
