Cop wounded in Albay drug sting

LEGAZPI CITY — An undercover police officer was stabbed and wounded by a drug suspect during the buy-bust operation in Polangui, Albay Sunday night.

The police officer sustained stab wounds on the right shoulder while the drug suspect, Dan Mark Regalario of Barangay Magurang, made good his escape.

Major Edgar Azotea, Polangui police chief, said that Regalario drew a bladed weapon and stabbed the undercover police officer when he sensed the set-up at around 9p.m.

Other police officers involved in the operation fired at Regalario, who is still being pursued as of Monday morning.

Over in Tiwi, Linuel Clapis Jr., 30, of Barangay Naga, was arrested Sunday afternoon,  Captain Jerald John Villafuerte reported.
