2 drug suspects dead in shootout with Cabanatuan City cops

CABANATUAN CITY –– Two suspected drug pushers were killed during a buy-bust operation in this city on Friday.

Police Lt. Col. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief, identified the suspects as Christopher Santiago, a resident of Barangay Fatima, and Alvin Garcia of Barangay Valle Cruz.

Zafra said the suspects died instantly after supposedly exchanging fire with responding policemen.

The suspects yielded 13 sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and the P500 marked money.

Forensic investigators also recovered from the crime scene a .45-caliber pistol and a .38-caliber revolver reportedly used by the suspects.
