Cops rescue 16 women, 11 minors from prostitution den in Rizal

MANILA, Philippines — Police have rescued 27 female, including 11 minors, from alleged prostitution racket following an entrapment operation of their alleged pimps in Antipolo City, Rizal.

Joint police units rescued the victims during an operation Thursday at around 9:30 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Cruz. The suspects identified as Rick Charlie Tugade Ada, 22, and Amelita Mica Francisco, 18, were arrested in an entrapment for reportedly pimping the women.

The operation was initiated by the Women and Children and Protection Center-Luzon Field Unit, Antipolo City Police Station, City Social Welfare Development in Antipolo, and Destiny Rescue Philippines.

Police said Friday that the suspects will face charges in violation of the Republic Act 9208 as amended by the Republic Act 10364 also known as the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

The suspects will be brought to Camp Crame in Quezon City, according to police. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
