MANILA, Philippines — A store attendant of Duty Free Philippines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was lauded for returning a wallet containing US$1000 or over P50,000 cash to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).

Store attendant Ariel Dela Peña found the wallet near the entrance of Duty Free Arrival Mall at NAIA Terminal 3 last Monday, June 3, Duty Free Philippines said in a statement Thursday.

After finding the wallet, Dela Peña immediately returned it to its owner, Alexis Aecuban Celeste, who hails from Iloilo City.

Duty Free Philippines Chief Operating Officer Vicente Pelagio A. Angala personally praised Dela Peña’s honesty and urged other employees of the store to follow through.
