The LTFRB said the ride-hailing firm is set to appear before the agency’s board on Tuesday, June 11, to explain their decision on deactivating the driver accounts.
Grab Philippines President Brian Cu earlier said the driver accounts to be deactivated belong to those who have not submitted proof that they acquired provisional authority from the LTFRB.
The LTFRB said Grab will also have to address complaints by the public regarding its failure to implement the 20 percent discount for PWDs, senior citizens, and students
Grab will also explain if it has a mechanism to remedy the failure to apply the required discount after a completed ride as part of their compliance to the SCO, the agency added.
“The LTFRB stands by its commitment to its mandate of ensuring the safety of the riding public and drivers through the rigorous implementation of its issued rules and regulations,” the LTFRB said in a statement. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
