Pangasinan village chief nabbed for illegal firearms

DAGUPAN CITY –– Police here on Thursday arrested the village chairman of San Pedro West of Rosales town, Pangasinan for alleged illegal possession of firearms.

The suspect was identified as Crisanto Coloma, 65, who is also the town’s association of barangay council president.

Regional Trial Court Branch 70 Judge Mervin Samadan issued the search warrant against Coloma, whose house yielded an unlicensed .45-caliber handgun, a .38-caliber gun without a serial number, ammunition, and magazines.

Police said Coloma and the confiscated items were taken to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Urdaneta City. Yolanda Sotelo  (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
