MANILA, Philippines — A 17-year-old special education (SPED) student said that she was drugged, raped, and eventually released by three men in Tondo, Manila.
The student identified the suspects as Manuel Saylo, 19; Cesar Gabino, 30; and Danny Pelayo, 25.
In an initial report on Wednesday, the Manila Police District (MPD) said the victim went to a sari-sari store with her cousin when Saylo approached her and told her, “balik kayo ha (please return)” on Saturday.
The next day, the victim’s mother found that her daughter went missing. With the help of officials from Barangay 43, the mother found her daughter.
The victim then confessed that she was at Pelayo’s house where the suspects allegedly forced her to use shabu (crystal meth) and molested her.
The victim’s family reported the incident to the police, which led to the arrest of Saylo and Gabino on Balimbing Street in Barangay 123, Zone 9.
Saylo and Gabino were taken to the Raxabago police station and will face charges for violation of the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
Meanwhile, case investigator Cpl Helen Ureta II said they will conduct a follow-up operation to hunt for Pelayo. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
