3 drug suspects killed in Navotas bust

MANILA, Philippines — Three drug suspects were killed in an encounter with law enforcers during a buy-bust operation in Navotas City early Wednesday morning.

The Navotas police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay NBBS Proper at 2 a.m. and arranged a shabu (crystal meth) transaction with the suspects, Ramil Barrameda alias Arabo; Rodrigo Quisayang alias Bekong , a certain alias “Gurang” and an unidentified accomplice.

After sensing the set-up, the suspects reportedly drew their firearms and opened fire.

The undercover police operatives managed to return fire, killing Quisayang, Gurang and Barrameda, while the unidentified accomplice made good his escape.

Recovered from the suspects were three .45 caliber pistols, ammunition and five sachets of shabu. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
