MANILA, Philippines — Fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Paltok in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The blaze struck houses along Baler Street Corner Kundiman Street in Barangay Paltok at 2:45 p.m.
The fire status has been raised to the third alarm after 10 minutes.
The blaze was declared under control at 3:54 p.m. and was extinguished at 5:14 p.m.
At least 60 families were affected by the fire.
According to the report obtained by INQUIRER.net, the fire damaged at least 30 houses along Kundiman street corner Baler in Quezon City.
Arson investigators place the damage to property at P100,000.
Initial investigation showed that the fire started at the ceiling of the house of a certain Rowena Gonzales at 2:41 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but residents said that the fire started from an unattended candle.
No casualties were reported in the fire. Firefighters are still trying to put out the fire as of this posting. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
