Cop drowns while in PNP-SAF training in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — A 27-year-old policeman drowned while in training with the elite Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Batangas, police said on Monday.

A report from the Calatagan Municipal Police identified the victim as Pat. Manny Jose Baldonado, who accidentally drowned while training for diagnostic combat in the waters of Barangay Baha at around 9:10 a.m. on Sunday.


Police said the training was conducted in the annex training facility of PNP-SAF.

Police said training instructors immediately applied first aid to the victim before he was taken to the Metro Balayan Medical Center, but he died on arrival. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
