Pagasa: ITCZ to spawn rains over Mindanao, Palawan

MANILA, Philippines – The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Mindanao and Palawan areas on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Hence, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ are expected to prevail in Palawan and Mindanao, the state weather bureau added.

Pagasa is advising residents in affected areas to watch out for possible flooding and landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers but due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Possible flash floods or landslides should also be expected due to rain showers and severe thunderstorms. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
