Sea turtle to be released to Ormoc Bay

ORMOC CITY —- The Animal Production and Fisheries Division of the City Agriculture Office is set to return to the Ormoc Bay on Monday a female Hawksbill sea turtle which was turned over by a fisherman to their office the other day.

Irish Belmonte, section head of the Fishery and Development Section, said the sea turtle was found by Admer Ilaida Sr., a resident of Barangay Tinag-an, Albuera, Leyte.

She said the sea turtle was below 2 years old and weighed about 5 kilos.

A tag will be attached to the sea turtle before it is returned back to the sea.

Belmonte said this was the third time a sea turtle was turned over to their office this year.
