2 ‘gun runners’ nabbed in Catanduanes

LEGAZPI CITY — Police arrested on Saturday two alleged gun runners in an entrapment operation in Virac town in Catanduanes province, a police report said.

Lt. Col. Venerando Ramirez, chief of the Catanduanes Police Community Relations Office, said Vince Bongat, 46, a resident of Barangay San Roque, and Joselito Valencia, 52, from Barangay Danicop, were caught selling firearms to undercover police during a sting operation around 2:30 a.m.in Barangay Pajo Baguio.

The police raiding team seized from the suspect an AR-15 caliber 9 mm assault rifle, Ingram M11 caliber 9 mm, two magazines for an AR-15 rifle, three magazines for Ingram, a four-inch-long knife and a cellphone.

Police also confiscated a motorcycle.
