MANILA, Philippines — A suspect in a robbery with homicide case was shot dead inside the investigation room of the Moriones police station in Manila on Friday afternoon.

The suspect, identified as Enrique Lugtu Jr., 37, was brought to the investigation room around 3:45 p.m. for fingerprint scanning when he allegedly stole the 9mm Glock 17 pistol of Cpl Analyn San Victores and pointed the gun at the latter.

However, Lugtu failed to shoot Victores as the gun was not loaded. This prompted Cpl. Rhisnel Vidanes to shoot Lugtu thrice.
