Gang member, suspected druggie killed in encounter vs cops in Manila
MANILA, Philippines— Two suspects, including a gang member, were killed after policemen shot them during a police operation in Port Area, Manila on Thursday morning.
A report from Ermita Police Station showed that Arnel Galit, 31, member of the Batang City Jail gang, and Noli Ignacio, who was included in the Manila Police District’s drugs watchlist, were allegedly using illegal drugs at the Baseco compound at 7 a.m.
A concerned citizen tipped them off to the police. As lawmen were about to approach the duo to verify the report, Ignacio and Galit allegedly pulled out their pipe handguns and fired at the police officers.
The suspects, however, missed prompting the law enforcers to fight back and hit the suspects.
Ignacio and Galit were rushed to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Manila Police District’s Homicide Section is currently investigating the case.
