MANILA, Philippines — A 3.4-magnitude earthquake hit Taft, Eastern Samar on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck 11 kilometers southwest of Taft at 2:15 a.m.
Phivolcs said the quake was of tectonic origin, and had a 58-kilometer depth of focus.
The temblor was recorded at Instrumental Intensity I at Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
No aftershocks and damages were expected, Phivolcs added. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
