DID YOU KNOW: 354 leptospirosis cases noted Jan-March 2019

According to the Department of Health, a total of 354 leptospirosis cases were reported nationwide from January to March 2019.

The figure was 58 percent lower than the 837 cases recorded during the same period in 2018.

There were 42 deaths recorded due to leptospirosis nationwide during the first quarter of 2019, 10 of these in Metro Manila.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
