Pagasa: Rains expected in NCR, parts of Luzon Wednesday afternoon

MANILA, Philippines – Heavy rainfall may drench Metro Manila and parts of Luzon Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, the state weather bureau said that heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Batangas, Quezon, Cavite, Bataan and Rizal within the next two hours.

Pagasa added that parts of Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Laguna are currently experiencing heavy rains, which may persist for one to two hours.

Nearby areas are also advised to prepare to heavy rainfall.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.

Pagasa earlier said in its forecast Wednesday morning that Metro Manila and most parts of the country may experience cloudy weather with the possibility of rain showers.  /gsg
