LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN — A new provincial director of Pangasinan on Tuesday assumed his post after the turnover ceremony at the Provincial Police Office (PPO) here.
Police Col. Redrico Maranan formally replaced Police Col. Wilson Joseph Lopez during a change of command.
Lopez, who headed the Pangasinan PPO for 11 months and eight days, said his best legacy was a peaceful, violent-free election in the province.
Lopez will be assigned as chief of staff of the Southern Police District.
Maranan, fresh from his stint as chief of police of Marikina City, asked for cooperation from the staff of Pangasinan police, saying he was in the province to do his job well.
He also vowed to weed out scalawags from the police force. Yolanda Sotelo (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
