MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has named Claire Dennis Mapa as the new National Statistician and head of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), replacing Lisa Grace Bersales.
Duterte signed the appointment paper of Mapa, who will serve a five-year term starting Monday. A copy of the appointment was shared with the media on Tuesday.
Mapa is the former dean and professor of the University of the Philippines School of Statistics.
